After six months of closure for grade improvements, Hawk Hill (of the Marin Headlands) has finally reopened. I set out for an easy ride to its summit earlier today and was pleased to see the views are as spectacular as I remember.
Decided to extend my knowledge of SF dirt today and passed through Bernal Heights on the way back from a mostly standard loop of Twin Peaks. This is the view from the north side of the hill.
I'll prob start to include this hill in more of my runs and rides--it's about a mile from our apartment.
A reporter from TV Tokyo happened to spot us as we were leaving Elizabeth Spencer's tasting room. She wanted to know what brought us to NAPA and so we offered Sanny for an interview -- it being her birthday we were celebrating.
... newly discovered by me atop Mt Davidson (near Twin Peaks). The plaque marks it as a memorial to the 1,500,000 Armenians killed during the Armenian Genocide (which Vonnegut included as the driving thematic event in his novel, Blue Beard). The cross is huge but hidden by trees if you were to seek it from below.

For the most part people were respectful of property, but we did see a bus caught up in the craziness; it was crawling with people all over it and graffiti on the windshield. Poor form guys!
